These Organizer Terms apply when you ("host" or "you") sell paid tickets for an event through Aura, a service of ParaThoughtLabs LLC ("Aura", "we", "us"). They add to Aura's Terms of use and Community Standards. If these Organizer Terms conflict with the Terms of use about paid tickets, these Organizer Terms control.
1. Payments and payouts
1.1 Ticket payments are processed by Stripe. To sell paid tickets you must create and keep in good standing a Stripe connected account and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Stripe may ask you for identity, business, bank and tax information.
1.2 When a buyer pays, the ticket price is transferred to your Stripe account and Aura keeps its fee. Payouts from your Stripe account to your bank follow your Stripe payout schedule. Aura does not hold your ticket revenue, and Aura does not control Stripe's verification, holds or payout timing.
1.3 Aura's fee is 1% + $0.49 per paid ticket, capped at $2 per ticket, plus applicable payment processing. By default buyers pay these fees on top of your ticket price. If you choose to absorb fees, they are deducted from what you receive. Free tickets have no Aura fee. We will tell you before a fee change applies to new ticket sales; it does not change orders already placed.
1.4 You must set accurate prices, capacity and event details. Aura shows buyers the full price, including fees, before they pay.
2. Refunds and cancellations
2.1 You set and publish your event's refund policy before tickets go on sale, and you must honor it.
2.2 If you cancel an event, or materially change its date, venue or headline content, you must offer every buyer a full refund. Tell Aura and your buyers promptly.
2.3 Refunds are issued through Aura. A full refund returns the buyer's total payment. The ticket price is recovered from you by reversing the transfer to your Stripe account or from future payouts. Aura may issue a refund itself when an event is cancelled, did not take place, or you do not respond to a valid refund request in a reasonable time.
2.4 You may not charge buyers a separate fee to obtain a refund Aura or your policy owes them.
3. Chargebacks and disputes
3.1 If a buyer disputes a payment with their card issuer, Stripe may debit the disputed amount and a dispute fee. You are responsible for disputes caused by your event, including cancellation, misdescription, refusal of entry to a valid ticket holder, or not honoring your refund policy. Aura may recover those amounts from your Stripe account or future payouts.
3.2 You agree to provide evidence (for example check-in records or communications with the buyer) within 5 business days when Aura asks, so the dispute can be answered.
3.3 Aura may pause your paid ticket sales or payouts while disputes or refunds are unusually high or under review.
4. Taxes
4.1 You are responsible for determining, collecting where required, reporting and paying all taxes that apply to your event and ticket revenue, including admission, amusement or live entertainment taxes (such as Nevada's Live Entertainment Tax) and income taxes, unless the law requires Aura to collect or report a tax itself.
4.2 Aura currently does not add tax to ticket prices. If the law requires Aura to collect a tax on your sales, Aura may add it to the buyer's total or deduct it from your proceeds and will tell you before it applies.
4.3 Stripe or Aura may issue tax forms (such as Form 1099-K) and report payments to tax authorities as the law requires. You must give Stripe accurate tax information.
5. Event rules
5.1 You must have the right to hold the event and sell tickets to it, and you are responsible for its accuracy, permits, licenses, venue rules, capacity, safety, accessibility and compliance with law, including any age limits.
5.2 You may not sell tickets through Aura for:
- events or activities that are illegal where they take place;
- gambling, wagering, raffles or lotteries;
- the sale of alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, weapons or other regulated goods as the ticketed item, unless you hold the required license and the ticket is for admission;
- sexual services, or sexually explicit events;
- donations, fundraising or crowdfunding presented as a ticket;
- tickets to someone else's event that you are not authorized to sell, including resale of tickets bought elsewhere;
- events that violate Aura's Community Standards.
5.3 Aura may refuse, pause or remove an event, stop ticket sales, or refund buyers when an event appears to break these rules, put people at risk, or create a high risk of fraud or disputes.
6. Buyer information
You receive buyer information only to run your event (for example check-in). Use it only for that event and as Aura's privacy policy allows, keep it secure, and do not sell it or use it for unrelated marketing without the buyer's consent.
7. Responsibility
You are responsible for your event and for claims by buyers or others that arise from it. You agree to cover Aura's reasonable losses and costs, including refunds and dispute amounts, caused by your event, your breach of these terms, or your violation of law. Aura's own responsibility to you is limited as described in the Terms of use.
8. Ending paid ticketing
You may stop selling paid tickets at any time; refund and dispute duties for tickets already sold continue. Aura may suspend or end your paid ticketing for a breach of these terms or the law, or if Stripe ends your connected account.
9. Changes and notices
We may update these Organizer Terms. We will notify you before material changes apply, and you will be asked to accept them again before your next paid event is published. Notices to ParaThoughtLabs about these terms go to admin@parathoughtlabs.com. We send notices to you at your account email. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
